A party of fantasy RPG adventurers: a human warrior, a elven mage, a dwarven cleric, and a halfling thief stand on a grassy hillside looking down a valley at a wizards tower. Flying over that fortress is a menacing red dragon. The human stands bravely with his massive sword, the dwarf grips his golden hammer, the elf draws on magical lightning, and the halfling holds up her short sword as the winged monster circles towards them.
From the artist: This is actually re-do for me. I created a similar image many years ago and decided to see how I could improve it. The characters all look a bit bigger in the new composition, the landscape more dramatic, and I added the dragon. I also decided to go with the four original character types that my friends and I used to have when playing D&D back in the mid 80s. It actually turned out to be one of my more complex works.
