This is a print from one of my oil pastel works.
This wildlife artwork portrays a marmoset perched gracefully on a tree branch, surrounded by lush jungle greenery. The expressive eyes of the small primate shine with curiosity as it gazes upward, its soft gray and white fur highlighted against the turquoise and emerald tones of the forest. The textured brushstrokes and vibrant colors bring the scene to life, blending fine detail with a painterly style that captures both the beauty of the animal and the richness of its rainforest habitat.
Celebrating the charm and uniqueness of one of the world’s smallest monkeys, this piece is perfect for animal lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, and collectors of rainforest art. It conveys the delicate balance of life in the treetops while highlighting the marmoset’s playful spirit and natural elegance.
The inspiration for this work came from a more unusual source. I was in the market for a new pocket knife to carry while in my art booth at art fairs. I wanted something less threatening than the camping style knives I usually carry when I'm outdoors. So, I ordered a much smaller knife from a company called Vosteed. The model was called "The Marmoset". After getting the knife I looked up the animal and decided it would be fun to make an artwork depicting one.
