This is a print from one of my oil pastel works.
A young traveler in a crimson cloak moves cautiously along a rocky woodland path, her lantern casting a soft glow through the mist of the forest. Behind her emerges the massive form of a wolf, its teeth bared and eyes fixed upon its unsuspecting prey. Inspired by the timeless European fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood, this dramatic scene captures the tension between innocence and lurking danger in the deep wilderness.
The warm lantern light and vivid red cloak stand in stark contrast to the cold shadows of the forest, creating a sense of suspense as the story unfolds. The painting evokes the dark atmosphere of classic folklore, where courage, cunning, and fate meet along lonely forest trails.
Perfect for collectors who love fairy tales, folklore, fantasy, wolves, and dramatic woodland imagery, this piece brings the enduring legend of Red Riding Hood to life.
From the artist: this has perhaps been one of my most attempted subjects ever. I've started a work about red riding hood about a dozen times and always thrown them out before finishing. With this one, though, I finally found one I like that capture that more medieval take on the subject were fairy tales were almost as much a horror story as a children's tale.
The original is a 20"x24" work on sanded paper made using Sennelier oil pastels.
