Sea Turtle on the Beach

This is a print from one of my oil pastel drawings.

A sea turtle comes ashore on a rocky beach.

This was a speed painting I did while on vacation at Orange Beach, Alabama. Being there inspired me to create a beach themed image. The beaches there were generally flat white sand beaches that you might find anywhere along the gulf...fun to play on but lacking many features to make for a visually interesting painting. So I added rocks and a more mountainous coastline in the distance.

The original was a 12" x 9" work on sanded paper. I used Van Gogh brand oil pastels.
