This is a canvas print from one of my digital paintings.
An appaloosa horse trots over a grassy hill in the American Wild West. This wild mustang enjoys the early spring day in the wilderness as the cool winds blow through its mane and tail. In the background, a dark spruce tree forest stands before the snow covered peaks of jagged, rocky mountains.
From the artist: Georgia springs tend to have rather wet, moody weather. I was out walking on just such an early spring day and was inspired to create an artwork the featured the same kind of atmosphere. While I, of course, love the landscapes of north Georgia, I wanted to make this image feel colder, so I set it out west with snow covered peaks in the background. I added the horse as a focal point, but also to use his mane and tail to show wind in the scene. I really like the way the bold contrasts work in this one.
