This is a print from one of Daniel's digital paintings.
In this dynamic scene from the American Wild West, a pinto coated mustang gallops through a dusty landscape. This is no regular paint horse, but an Indian pony painted for war. The mustang's coat is a mix of white and brown patches, which contrast sharply with the bright colors of those markings.
The horse's mane and tail are wild, flowing with the motion of its sprint, and the dust kicked up by its hooves adds to the sense of speed and intensity. The expression and motion of the horse convey strength, freedom, and a deep connection to nature and heritage.
The markings on the horse have a variety of meanings:
For keen senses, it has the sun painted around its eye.
Because he has brought his rider back unharmed from battle, there is a hand print on its side.
A red cross means that it escaped an ambush.
The fire arrow on its neck to cause harm to its foes.
The blue circles are hail to rain down upon enemies.
A symbol for a snake is on its hind leg, and above that, blue horses for captured mounts
From the artist: For this one, I actually attempted to mimic the pose of the mustang symbol that appears not only on the Ford car, but also on the jerseys of many a sports team. The funny thing is that the symbol gets the position of the legs rather wrong for a galloping horse. Also, the hind leg (there is actually only one hind leg in the symbol) is too long. Still, I think my appoximation makes for an exciting sense of motion.
Thanks for looking,
